HomeSide Appoints President and Chief Operating Officer - 7 September 2001

National Australia Bank today announced that Gary W. Fiedler has joined HomeSide Lending Inc. as President and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Fiedler succeeds Kevin Race who resigned earlier this week and will report to Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Joe Whiteside.

Mr. Fiedler has considerable experience managing private and public financial service businesses. He served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Hogan Systems, Inc. in Dallas, Texas and later in the same role at Equimark Corporation in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Most recently, he served in various executive roles completing business turnaround assignments at several private companies.
