Resignation of Director - 13 June 2000

National Australia Bank Limited announced today that Mr Frank Blount will resign from its Board of Directors, effective 1 July 2000.

Mr Blount, who joined the Board of the National in March 1999, has been appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Cypress Communications Inc, a telecommunications company based in Atlanta in the United States.

Mr Blount said his resignation from the Board of the National, and the boards of several other companies, was necessitated by the time demands of his new commitment.

The Chairman of the National, Mr Mark Rayner, congratulated Mr Blount on his new appointment and expressed regret that he is leaving the Board of the National. In his short tenure, his familiarity with current conditions in the United States and his telecommunications background have been of particular value.
