John Stewart Joins National Boards - 12 August 2003

Mr John Stewart has joined the Board of Directors of National Australia Bank Limited. 

Mr Stewart commenced his appointment as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of National Australia Group Europe on Friday, 8 August.

He was previously Deputy Chief Executive of Barclays Bank where he headed the group's Personal Financial Services operation and Barclay's Private Clients. He was Chief Executive of Woolwich before it became part of the Barclays Group in 2000.

As well as bringing extensive knowledge and a successful track record of retail banking in the United Kingdom, John will increase the bank's management depth and lead the further implementation of National Australia Group Europe's retail and business banking strategies in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
