Our supply chain contributes to our social and environmental performance and our supply relationships can add to or detract from our reputation. Therefore, relationships with suppliers and our supply chain management practices are very important.

By working with our suppliers to manage our direct and indirect social and environmental impacts, we believe we can reduce risks from our supply chain and make a positive difference to the communities in which we operate.

Our supply chain involves over 56,000 suppliers globally. Further facts about our supply chain are provided annually in our CR Detailed Facts & Information pack.

We have been introducing CR considerations into our supply chain management since 2004.

2004 - developed an environmental procurement policy - this helped us to select suppliers who have better environmental practices, procedures and policies.
2005 - developed our Commitment to Fair International Workplace Practices Policy - this Policy sets out our commitment to the OECD Guidelines for Multi-national Enterprises and the UN Declaration of Human Rights and outlines how we will endeavour to integrate social and environmental issues into our supply chain management.
In 2006, we reviewed our environmental procurement policy and replaced it with our CR Procurement Policy.
