ASX Announcement - National Australia Bank in discussions to acquire ABN AMRO Australia and New Zealand

National Australia Bank Limited (NAB) is participating in a process being conducted by the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) to acquire ABN AMRO Australia Holdings Pty Limited (ABN AMRO Holdings). ABN AMRO Holdings owns and operates the investment banking and wholesale banking businesses of ABN AMRO in Australia and New Zealand.
There can be no certainty that a transaction will result. Any potential transaction would be subject to due diligence and, ultimately, the receipt of all relevant regulatory approvals.
This disclosure is being made as a requirement of National Australia Bank’s underwriting agreement for the Dividend Reinvestment Plan.
